MusicX goes Disney! "How To Write A Classic Disney Ballad" is live at noon CT tomorrow (no paywall to watch)
The 5th lecture in my informal MusicX series
Hey all - I’ll be going live with lecture #5 in my MusicX “informal talks on music” series at 12 noon Central Time tomorrow (Sunday, May 11). The title of this one is, "How To Write A Classic Disney Ballad" — as you can probably guess, we’ll be looking at some famous Disney songs from 1930s through the late ‘50s (and perhaps writing one of our own).
It’s also Mother’s Day, so we’ll be wishing all the moms out there a Happy Mother’s Day in the chat!
Going forward, there won’t be any paywall to watch these streams — the tech that powers Substack live just isn’t up to the standard it needs to be to stream music, and honestly, I’d rather not limit the audience by a paywall, anyway.
However, you are still welcome to subscribe and support this series (and join us in the MusicX members chat).
Speaking of Disney - the classic “Disney” sound was certainly a major stylistic influence on my arrangement of “Die With A Smile” — our latest Postmodern Jukebox video:
See you tomorrow!
